Why do I run on trails at night?

It’s to see the sunset.

It’s to hear Nature say, “Good night. See you in the morning”.

It’s to smell Her. Not the kind that is fabricated by factories.

It’s to feel.

When the sun sets and the trees cast shadows, She begins to know me.

The real me.

She begins to know my thoughts.

She begins to know my fears.

She begins to know my determination. She begins to know my strength.

She begins to work with me to find my path home.

It's in these moments, that I learn more about myself.

In the rustling of the leaves by an unknown creature.

In the falls due to fear.

In the falls due to the lack of equipment.

In the falls due to unawareness.

It’s in these moments that I become centered and come alive.

It’s in these moments that She and I become one.
